Nuno Tavares set for €10m Besiktas move, as Lazio secure new left-back
Sky Sport Italia and others report Besiktas will sign Nuno Tavares on loan with obligation to buy for €10m, as Lazio replace him with Villarreal’s Alfonso Pedraza.
It had been clear for a while that the former Arsenal man was not suited to Maurizio Sarri’s style of football and had dropped down the pecking order, even during an injury crisis.
Having already sold Matteo Guendouzi to Fenerbahce, Lazio are again doing business with the Turkish teams and have agreed to hand over the left-back.
Nuno Tavares fate is sealed with Besiktas
According to Gianluca Di Marzio, this will be a loan deal with obligation to buy at the end of the season for €10m.
It is significantly less than the €18m demand mentioned by LaLazioSiamoNoi last week.
Meanwhile, the same Sky Sport Italia transfer expert also notes that Lazio have already found his replacement in the form of 29-year-old left-back Pedraza.
His contract expires on June 30, so there will be a small payment to let him quit Villarreal early.
