A USA Today reporter asked him, “Do you feel that’s effective or no?” and he laughed in response.
He then said, “We’re just here for show business today. You know, it was a terrible thing that happened, and it shouldn’t have happened, and if they didn’t act like such thugs, it wouldn’t have had to happen. But I don’t need to wear a pin about it.”
Some commenters disagree with him, writing in the comments section: “Disgusting response,” “EW ????,” and “Bill is washed up. No surprise that’s twisted, and a selfish response.”
However, some seem to agree, stating, “He is absolutely correct,” “Never in a million years did I think that Bill Maher would be a voice of reason,” and “Hes not wrong ????????♂️.”
During the show, Wanda Sykes, who wore the pin, said in front of the entire audience on stage, “You give us so much. But I would love a little less. Just try less.”
