Mark Ruffalo Gives Brutally Honest Answer to Question About How Much Fun the Golden Globes Is Amid What's Happening in America (Video)
Mark Ruffalo got real at the 2026 Golden Globes on Sunday (January 11), and his responses are circulating online.
The 58-year-old actor was stopped multiple times for interviews while on the red carpet with wife Sunrise Coigney, and he was brutally honest with how he’s feeling about the state of America under Donald Trump.
“How much fun is it in that room?” Kevin Frazier, the interviewer from ET, asked.

“It’s usually a lot of fun, but…I gotta be honest with you. I’m not feeling so great. We have a woman. Renee Good was murdered in our streets of America. We’ve got, literally, storm troopers running around terrorizing, and as much as I love all this, I don’t know if I can pretend like this crazy stuff isn’t happening,” Mark said.
“We have a president who says the laws of the world don’t apply to him and we can rely on his morality, but he has no morality, so where does that leave us? Where does that leave the world?” Mark continued. “I love these people…It’s so hard to pretend anymore. It’s crazy what is happening.”
“People can’t pay their rent. They can’t buy food. Insurance is impossible. There’s no education. This is not making America better. We have Americans being shot. Killed. A woman in her car,” he said.
