Baby left brain damaged after dad threw her at TV
A dad has been jailed for 35 years for attempted murder after throwing his daughter at a television set.
Rhydian Jamieson, 28, refused to appear for sentencing at Swansea Crown Court and was described as showing ‘not a scintilla of true remorse’ for what he had done.
Prosecutor Caroline Rees the baby was taken to hospital from a house in Y Ferwig, Ceredicion, on January 15 last year.
She suffered from significant injuries that have left her with severe disabilities, vision issues, epileptic fits and developmental setbacks.
Judge Paul Thomas called the assaultan ‘act of horrendous callousness and self-interest’.

Jamieson initially tried to retract his guilty plea, refused to co-operate with pre-sentence reports, and had previously made remarks attempting to blame a family member for the child’s injuries.
He was also depicted as being ‘consumed purely by self-pity.’
Jamieson’s criminal record includes convictions for driving offences, criminal damage, common assault, stalking, and public disorder.
The child’s family delivered harrowing impact statements, branding Jamieson a ‘pathetic man-child who wanted to inflict pain on an innocent child.’
