Heavy snow closes main routes to Troodos

Three main routes to Troodos were closed on Monday afternoon to unequipped private vehicles following heavy snowfall, police said.

The Karvounas-Troodos, Platres-Troodos and Prodomos-Troodos roads remain open only to vehicles fitted with snow chains or four-wheel drive.

Dense fog has reduced visibility across the Troodos area.

Police urge drivers to exercise particular caution, maintain safe distances from other vehicles and keep their headlights on.
