Cyprus’ banking chiefs to discuss finance’s next phase at industry forum
Five chief executives from Cyprus’ banking sector will take part in the 13th Banking, Payments and Fintech Forum and Expo, emphasising the event’s growing institutional weight at a time when the industry is navigating rapid technological and regulatory change.
The forum, presented by Logicom, has become a key point of reference for the island’s banking and fintech ecosystem, focusing this year on strategic transformation, the evolution of payments and the expanding role of artificial intelligence in financial services, both locally and at a European level.
Its importance is reinforced by the participation of the CEOs of all major systemic banks operating in Cyprus.
These include Bank of Cyprus CEO Panicos Nicolaou, Eurobank CEO and executive board member Michalis Louis, Alpha Bank Cyprus CEO Miltos Michaelas, National Bank of Greece (Cyprus) CEO and executive board member George Agioutantis, and SGBCy CEO Khalil Letayf.
Through their interventions, the banking leaders are expected to outline their institutions’ strategic direction on issues ranging from sustainable development and digital transformation to risk management, cybersecurity and the evolving regulatory framework.
At the same time, attention is likely to focus on how banks are working to strengthen trust with the business community amid accelerating change.
Beyond individual strategies, the discussions are expected to address broader questions shaping the future of finance, including the pace at which banks can adapt to technological developments, the transition towards more sustainable business models, and the scope for cooperation with the rapidly expanding fintech and digital-solutions ecosystem.
The forum is also set to shed light on the priorities of the Cypriot banking system in the coming years, notably how institutions balance innovation with stability, and where new opportunities are emerging across both the Cypriot and wider European markets.
The conference will take place on January 19 at the Hilton Nicosia and is aimed at board members, CEOs and senior executives from banks, investment firms, insurance organisations, fintechs, electronic money institutions and payment institutions, as well as representatives of regulatory authorities, accounting and law firms, consultants and technology providers.
The event is organised by IMH, with Logicom Solutions as main sponsor.
Gold sponsors include Ecommbx, Freedom Holding Corp. and PwC Cyprus, while Cyta Business is the strategic partner. The forum is supported by leading banking institutions and industry bodies, with participation from a broad range of sponsors and exhibitors across the financial services and technology spectrum.
