Listicle: Where Stanford women’s swim and dive stands in the national rankings

At the half-way point of this year’s NCAA Swim and Dive season, here’s where the Cardinal stack up in the national rankings (as of Jan. 1, 2026).

Each year, the NCAA provides a list of qualifying standards for each event at the national championships in March. In the past, there have been two standards, one automatic “A” cut and a slower, provisional “B” standard. All swimmers achieving the “A” cut would compete at the championship meet, and “B” standard swimmers would fill in the remaining spots until event-dependent capacity was reached.

This year, individual times are calculated “using the three-year average of the 72nd best [overall] time” from the prior three seasons. Relay times still use the automatic (“qualifying”)/provisional format and are calculated similarly to the individual events. The three-year average of the 16th-best relay time determines the qualifying standard, and the three-year average of the 24th-best relay time determines the provisional.

Gathered from USA Swimming’s Top Times Data Hub, the list below covers where Stanford swimmers land, up to the 100th fastest time this year. Bolded swimmers have reached this standard, and underlined swimmers are the current NCAA-leading athletes in that event.
