Golden Globes 2026: The hottest fashion trend of the night is bright and bold
The 83rd annual Golden Globe Awards kick off the 2026 awards season and stars are making a splash on the red carpet.
Many of the film and television actors who strutted into the Beverly Hilton Hotel on Sunday got the same memo: In 2026, bright and bold is in.
“You never want the outfit to be the joke. I try to wear things that aren’t too distracting, because you want people being able to pay attention to your words and not what you’re wearing,” comedian Nikki Glaser told Women’s Wear Daily, regarding her hosting outfit. While Glaser tones it down on stage, the same rules don’t apply for the red carpet. “That’s the moment where my words don’t matter, and I’m just there to look stunning.”
Glaser, back to host the show again, arrived at the awards ceremony in a baby-pink ball gown fit for a princess. Maybe a nod to Glinda? In the era of “Wicked,” fans know there cannot be pink without green, and on the carpet, green gowns were having a moment. “Love Island USA” star Olandria Carthen hit the carpet in an emerald green dress with a trumpet silhouette and a corset-style bodice.
Rose Byrne, who was nominated for best actress in a motion picture musical or comedy for her role in the film “If I Had Legs I’d Kick You,” also arrived in emerald green. The silk gown from Chanel is embroidered with more than 4,000 glass pearls and crystals, which, according to Vogue, took 210 hours to create.
“Sinners” star Wunmi Mosaku arrived at the 83rd Golden Globes to celebrate the film’s seven nominations, but that’s not all the acclaimed actor was celebrating: Mosaku announced her pregnancy on the red carpet. She cradled her baby bump in a custom yellow Matthew Reisman dress. The star told Vogue the color choice is an homage to the Yoruba phrase, “Iya ni Wúrà” which means “mother is golden.”
