Nearly 2,000 Luchenza Residents Benefit From FGRF Donations
The Faizan Global Relief Foundation (FGRF) has donated food and hospital beds to residents of Luchenza in Thyolo District, aiming to ease hardships and strengthen essential public services.
FGRF Director of Communications and Public Relations, Ibrahim Omar Mataya, said the donation is part of the organisation’s ongoing efforts to support communities affected by hunger.
“The donation is part of FGRF’s continued commitment to help vulnerable communities and ensure access to essential services that improve people’s wellbeing,” Mataya said during the handover.
He added that the organisation also seeks to complement government efforts in addressing social and economic challenges.
“We respond not only to immediate needs such as hunger, but also aim to strengthen essential services that directly impact people’s lives,” Mataya said.
Nearly 2,000 residents received bags of flour, while 15 hospital beds were delivered to the maternity ward at Chonde Community Hospital to improve maternal health services.
Receiving the donations, Luchenza Member of Parliament and Minister of Lands and Urban Development, Chimwemwe Chipungu, thanked FGRF for the support.
“The assistance will bring relief to many households, while the hospital beds will improve conditions in the maternity ward, benefiting both mothers and health workers,” he said.
The initiative also included 200 bags of flour and 15 hospital beds for Chonde Health Center in Mulanje, followed by 1,300 bags of flour to families in Luchenza Municipal.
Mataya has since pledged continued support to communities in need across Malawi.
