This Wild Stat Showcases Patriots’ Historic All-Pro Snubs
“The Patriot Way” became the callsign of the New England Patriots dynasty in the Robert Kraft era. It refers to a rejection of superstar attitudes and embraces putting the team over all other things.
When future Hall of Famers Tom Brady and Bill Belichick moved on, NFL fans hoped that The Patriot Way had gone with them. But head coach Mike Vrabel has his Patriots playing in a way that fans in Foxboro are very familiar with.
The Associated Press released the 2025 All-Pro team Saturday morning before the start of the NFL Wild Card Weekend.
Zero Patriots earned first-team All-Pro honors despite ending the year in a three-way tie for the most wins in the league.
The 2025 Patriots are only the second team in the history of the NFL to post a 14-win season and not have a first-team All-Pro selection in the 85 years since the AP began picking All-Pro teams.
Who is the only other team to accomplish this feat?
The 2016 Patriots.
In 2016, Tom Brady finished as the second-team All-Pro quarterback. The first-team selection was Matt Ryan. Brady also finished second in voting for the MVP trophy that year. Ryan won the award but went on to lose to Tom Brady in the most infamous Super Bowl of all time.
In 2025, Drake Maye finished as the second-team All-Pro quarterback. The first-team selection is Los Angeles Rams veteran Matthew Stafford. Stafford is narrowly favored to be the MVP award winner. His team advanced to the second round of the playoffs following a nail-biting victory over the Carolina Panthers on Saturday.
The 2025 Patriots are hoping that this is not where the comparisons to the 2016 team will end.
