Bears-Packers halftime score: Packers blindside Bears for 21-3 lead as QB Jordan Love torches defense
The Packers already have the Bears in desperation mode and lead them 21-3 at halftime of their wild-card playoff game.
The Bears' defense has been a disaster so far, and Packers quarterback Jordan Love has completed 9 of 15 passes for 139 yards and three touchdowns for a 130.3 passer rating. The Packers also are averaging 5.8 yards per carry.
Bears coach Ben Johnson already has gone for it on fourth down four times, and it hasn't gone well. They're 1-for-4, and Johnson's most questionable fourth-down call was very costly. He went for it on fourth-and-five from his own 32-yard line with five minutes left in the half, and quarterback Caleb Williams' pass was incomplete. The Packers scored soon after to go ahead 21-3.
Williams has completed just 8 of 17 passes for 78 yards and threw an interception early in the second quarter on a play in which he and wide receiver Luther Burden were not on the same page whatsoever. Williams went into halftime with a 35.9 passer rating.
Worse yet for the Bears' defense, they've lost two key players in linebacker T.J. Edwards and defensive tackle Andrew Billings. Edwards hurt his ankle early in the second quarter on a non-contact play and is out for the game. Billings' status is unclear.
The Packers get the ball to begin the second half.
