Matthew Stafford's Wife Kelly Was Involved in a Taylor Swift Controversy
L.A. Rams Quarterback is married to his wife, Kelly Hall. Over the years, she has gotten into a few controversies, and one of them involved pop superstar Taylor Swift.
“Honestly, I did get a lot of heat from them,” Kelly told Us Weekly of Swift's fans. “I was like, ‘Whoa, I love Taylor." Hall has a podcast. What did she say? Kelly revealed in November 2024 that she was "tired" of the attention Swift receives, according to The New York Post.
According to Sports Illustrated, Stafford also gets attention for the outfits she and her kids wear to games, including the Rams' January 10 playoff game against the Panthers. "They all took photos before the game with Kelly’s bold black fit and blue Rams colored hat on, while the four girls all had on custom '9' and 'MVD' for 'Most Valuable Dad' fits for their dad," SI reported. The couple has four kids, all girls.

Kelly went on to offer a detailed analysis of the Swift comments.
“It was a good business decision for the NFL, but I almost felt like it was outshining the games,” she said, according to The Post. “I think that’s what bothered me. I was a little jealous of the fact that they were getting all this attention and all of a sudden the football game was the sideshow. So, yeah, maybe I let jealousy get the best of me.”
“When you’re constantly seeing someone on your social media every scroll, you kind of lose that love, you know?” Kelly said on the podcast. “That’s what I was saying. I was like, ‘I’m seeing her every second, I’m never wondering about what she’s doing.’”
Kelly Hall Said She Felt Hurt by Some of the Reaction
On the podcast, Kelly also opened up about some of the criticism she received.
“Comments that are mean, they hurt my feelings,” she said. “I have feelings and I’m not going to sit here and act like I don’t. I’ve tried to develop some thick skin to understand what my values are and sticking to those regardless of what people say about me.
“It’s scary because, even as an adult, my self confidence is intertwined with people that are commenting who don’t even know me.”
Matthew Stafford Has Opened Up About Family
Stafford has made it clear how important having a family is to him.
“It's the greatest part of my life, to be honest with you,” he said in a 2021 Rams.com Q&A. “It changed it in so many ways. ... You'll never know, what that feeling is until you have kids and I've been lucky enough to have that four times. Four beautiful little daughters. I'm lucky in that regard.”
Two of the daughters are twins.
"Year 17 regular season is complete. Never thought i would see the day I would go to every game and bring my daughters to 15 out of 17, but I’m so glad I did. What a season to witness in person," Kelly wrote on Instagram before the playoff game.
"The passion for football it instilled in my daughters (now all of the them want to play QB on a girls flag football team) is so fun to see, but also for them to start to understand how hard work and dedication pays off. We all needed that lesson. Watching their dad fail, realizing it’s ok, and it’s how you respond to that failure that makes up who you are. Incredibly blessed to witness the man I love, with the girls I love, do the thing he loves most ❤️
