‘The USA stands ready to help!’ Trump issues ominous hint at next foreign intervention

President Donald Trump issued an ominous hint Saturday at what may be his administration’s next foreign intervention following the U.S. attack on Venezuela last week.

“Iran is looking at FREEDOM, perhaps like never before,” Trump wrote on his social media platform Truth Social. “The USA stands ready to help!!!”

Trump’s remark comes as his administration and Republican lawmakers renew calls to topple Iran’s government, following a surge of protests last week across the country amid a deepening economic crisis.

Trump has issued multiple explicit threats to Iran that his administration would “hit them very hard” should its government harm any protesters, and that the United States was “ready to do it.” Iranian Supreme Leader Ali Khamenei has accused protesters of causing civil unrest on the behalf of Trump, and on Friday, predicted Trump’s downfall was imminent.

Trump’s increasing hostility toward Iran amid its civil unrest has been championed by a number of Republicans, including Sen. Lindsey Graham (R-SC), who recently cheered Trump’s purported “support” for the Iranian protestors.

“The people are in open revolt,” Graham said on Sunday, speaking with Fox News, The Independent reported. “They’ve chosen not to live this way anymore. And unlike [Barack] Obama, President Trump has not turned his back on the people of Iran.”
