Tottenham join long line of clubs interested in ‘dream’ Juventus star, but there is a problem
Tottenham Hotspur may have to abandon their pursuit of a 20-year-old Serie A starlet, who is reportedly at the top of their wishlist.
With Mohammed Kudus’ injury worse than Tottenham initially hoped, the Lilywhites are expected to step up their pursuit of an attacker over the coming days.
One of the names on the Premier League side’s wishlist is a Turkish international, whose reputation has blossomed at Juventus over the last 18 months.
It first emerged last month that Kenan Yildiz would be a dream signing for Spurs as the versatile attacker’s future at Turin continues to be shrouded in doubt.
Tottenham could suffer Kenan Yildiz transfer blow
A couple of weeks ago, TEAMtalk named Spurs and Chelsea as the two clubs with the most advanced interest in Yildiz.
The outlet explained that the 20-year-old and the Bianconeri are in a contract standoff, which may force the Serie A giants to cash in on the starlet.
Football.London’s Alasdair Gold has now confirmed that the Lilywhites are indeed among the long line of clubs interested in the Turkish starlet.
However, the journalist reveals that there is a growing belief that the young attacker has ironed out his differences with Juve and is now about to put pen to paper on a new deal at the Allianz Stadium.
Who are the other attackers on Spurs’ wishlist?
It emerged a couple of days ago that Tottenham have made a list of seven attacking targets and are willing to be flexible and move down the list if they are not able to get their priority targets.
Yildiz was one of the names on that list, but it now appears that the youngster is set to remain at Turin. The others on Spurs’ radar are Maghnes Akliouche, Savinho, Yan Diomande, Omar Marmoush, Oscar Bobb, and Said El Mala.
None of those players is likely to come cheap, but Tottenham are thought to be willing to splash the cash this month.
