Sports briefs: San Domenico earns historic win against Marin Academy
Eddie Vergara, Ridwaan Adam, and Marcelo Passos each found the back of the net to lead the San Domenico boys soccer team to a 3-1 win against Marin Academy on Friday — its first victory over the Wildcats in program history.
“This win isn’t just about one game; it sets a new standard for what this group is capable of,” San Domenico coach Travis Bowen said via email. “To see our seniors lead the way and our freshmen step up on this stage shows the depth and fight of this brotherhood.”
Vergara, a freshman, also had an assist for the Panthers (4-1-1, 2-1-0 BCL West) and was named man of the match by Bowen, who noted a standout performance by Guiherme Guioto in the midfield. Guioto, the BCL West’s Co-MVP from last season, provided an assist against MA (2-5-1, 1-1-0)
