Speaking to media on Friday, January 9, Nazhand said he had also been nominated for Fighter of the Year, reflecting his consistent performances inside the Octagon cage.
Nazhand credited the achievement to strong public support from Afghanistan, saying encouragement from fans helped him gain recognition while also impressing Octagon officials technically.
He added that he is expected to receive the official trophy and Athlete of the Year award from the Octagon organization in the near future.
Nazhand currently holds 10 professional victories and has won three high-profile bouts under the respected Octagon banner, strengthening his international reputation.
