Man Utd should sign 20yo Brazilian star before Arsenal for £26m, he's similar to Adam Wharton
Manchester United should pursue a move for Corinthians midfielder Breno Bidon amid interest from Arsenal and Sporting CP.
The 20-year-old has developed into one of the best young midfielders in Brazilian football, and he had a solid 2025 campaign.
Bidon made 56 appearances across all competitions for Corinthians and was hugely impressive with his all-round performances.
He had a passing accuracy of 88 percent in the Brazilian Serie A and won an average of five duels and 1.4 tackles per appearance.
Bidon also made four recoveries per game, losing possession on less than nine occasions on average (8.9).
The midfielder recently came up with a fantastic piece of skill to evade his marker in the lead-up to Memphis Depay’s winner in the second leg of the Brazilian Cup final against Vasco da Gama.
In our view, Bidon has similar traits to Crystal Palace star Adam Wharton, given his forward-mindedness from the centre of the park.
Like Wharton, the Brazilian has caught the eye with his quality forward distribution and has the knack for delivering precise long balls.
Comparing the duo, Wharton has a lower passing accuracy than Bidon (80 percent) in the Premier League and has lost possession more often (12.4).
The FA Cup winner has won an identical number of duels (4.6), but has made more tackles (2.4) and recoveries (five) per league game.
Wharton could cost around £70 million next summer and may not join any club, including United, without the assurance of Champions League football.
Bidon, on the other hand, could be prised away for £26m. Arsenal and Sporting CP are keen on landing his signature alongside United.
In our opinion, the Red Devils must be proactive and try to secure an agreement this winter. He would be a good addition to the midfield.
