The couple started dating in 2023 and broke up in October 2024. Brianna alleged that Zach had been emotionally abusive and their breakup was anything but amicable.
Now it appears that some of his newly released songs are dissing her, per People.
“Skin”
The song “Skin” includes lyrics like: “I’m taking a blade to my own skin / And I ain’t ever touching yours again / How do tattoos take to your skin? Does your higher ground ever sink in? Do you love people just to win when it’s over?”
Brianna has lyrics from his song “28″ tattooed on her arm.
He also sings, “Do you still talk s–t on all of your friends?”
Some listeners have speculated this is a dig at his ex for her claims about their “toxic” breakup.
“Plastic Cigarette”
“Plastic Cigarette” references meeting someone “evil” in Queens, N.Y. He and Brianna started their romance after she attended his concert at the Forest Hills Stadium in the borough.
“My brother had told me to leave but I didn’t believe the evil beneath some people you meet out in Queens,” Zach sings.
“Slicked Back”
Brianna is an active social media personality and podcast host known for her affiliation with Barstool Sports.
With that info in mind, it makes it an easy jump to assume Zach‘s “Slicked Back” lyrics about how he “used to know some folks who put it all online but you paint landscapes in the evening time,” could be both a reference to Brianna and his now-wife Samantha Leonard whose paintings the musician has shared online.
