Aston Villa FPL winners and losers from Gameweek 21: defensive contributions save the day
Aston Villa had to settle for a goalless draw in their most recent Premier League game away at Crystal Palace on Wednesday.
Villa players have been piling up the Fantasy Premier League points lately but the goalless draw means another quiet week for FPL players with Ollie Watkins, Morgan Rogers and Villa’s other attacking point-getters.
Let’s check in with the midweek scores in the Premier League’s official FPL game and see how the Villa boys have been getting on.
Top Aston Villa FPL scorers in GW21
Without a goal to enjoy, Villa’s defensive players took centre stage in Gameweek 21. The back four were Villa’s top four scorers against Palace followed by a clutch of players on three points.
Villa’s biggest bagger of the gameweek was left-back Lucas Digne, who racked up nine points thanks to six defensive contributions and three bonus points, a kick in the teeth for the 8376 managers who gave him the boot after GW20.
Ezri Konsa clocked up seven points and there were six apiece for Matty Cash and Victor Lindelöf. Cash remains Villa’s second-highest scorer for the season as a whole.
Rogers is the top dog and became the first Villa player to pass the 100-point barrier in 2025-26, nudging past the milestone despite a three-point blank in GW21.

AVF FPL update GW21
After a couple atrocious weeks, my team has slipped back outside the top 50 of the AVF FPL league. Let’s just get that out of the way to begin with.
League leader Gary James has pulled away again thanks to 62 points this week, with Rich Ludlow and Abdelrhman Gooda losing ground in second and third respectively.
Thomas Holder jumps into the top four with a magnificent 73 points and one Stuart Young(!) now occupies tenth place. John Mortimer climbs out of the bottom three with 75 points but the top scorer this week, with 76, is Daniel Clarke.
Daniel moves into the top 25 thanks to double-figure hauls from Igor Thiago, Alisson and captain Erling Haaland, as well as goals from Antoine Semenyo and Harry Wilson. Well played!
