Burning Man announces ticketing info and now we want some Advil
Burning Man organizers have just released information on the festival’s intensely confusing and complicated ticketing program.
Seriously, it’s amazing that anyone ever figures out how to buy a ticket to this event.
But thousands upon thousands do just that, navigating the multi-tiered ticketing program to secure ducats for their annual trip to the desert. And, well, more power to them.
The best course of action is to go straight to the ticketing page and try to navigate the process that way. You’ll find it at https://burningman.org/black-rock-city/ticketing-information/.
What you probably should know right now, however, is that your first chance to buy passes — in what organizers have dubbed “the Sunrise Sale” — begins at noon Feb. 4. (Maybe noon does qualify as “sunrise” in the Burning Man world?)
Of course, it’s not quite that simple dialing up the site on Feb. 4 and entering your credit card digits. In order to do so, you need to register in advance, from noon Jan. 26 to noon Feb. 3.
Tickets will be initially offered at different price points ranging from $675 to $3,000, during this so-called Sunrise Sale. And you’ll want to buy them during this on-sale, since they go up in price from there — during the multiple other ticketing periods that follow.
But you don’t have to pay all at once — no matter what price range you’re aiming for — since BottleRock now offers payment plans for all tickets. That’s new for 2026.
Oh, but don’t forget your vehicle pass, unless you plan to walk all the way to the Black Rock Desert of Nevada. That’ll run you $165 each, plus applicable fees. And, remember, you’re only allowed to buy a maximum of one vehicle pass and two tickets.
The whole thing kind of gives us a headache. So, pass the Advil and, maybe, we’ll just stream the festival online instead.
