Mugger crocodile population rises in Ganjam's Ghodahada reservoir
Ganjam district's Ghodahada reservoir and nearby water bodies have seen a welcome surge in mugger crocodile numbers, with the population now standing at 95, an increase of eight from last year. Forest officials attribute this positive trend to fishing restrictions, habitat improvements, and local community protection efforts. This vital habitat is one of three for muggers in Odisha.
