Tottenham Hotspur confirm fifth loan exit of the January transfer window
Tottenham Hotspur have continued to trim their squad this winter, with another academy player set to head out on loan as the reshuffle gathers pace.
While Tottenham Hotspur are yet to see a flurry of incomings this winter window, there has been no shortage of outgoings so far.
Brennan Johnson remains the highest-profile departure from Spurs this winter, with Tottenham having agreed a £33.5million fee with Crystal Palace.
Kota Takai has also secured a loan move to German side Borussia Monchengladbach, while youngsters George Abbott returned to Wycombe and Jamie Donley joined Oxford United on loan.
However, it does not stop there, as yet another youngster has now secured a move away from north London.
Tottenham confirm Oliver Irow loan to Mansfield Town
Tottenham Hotspur have now confirmed that Oliver Irow has joined League One side Mansfield Town on loan for the remainder of the 2025-26 season. He becomes Tottenham’s fifth loan exit of the January transfer window after Solomon, Takai, Yang Min-hyeok, and Jamie Donley.
The 19-year-old forward is a product of the Tottenham academy and has scored five goals in 12 appearances for Spurs’ Under-21s so far this term.
He has played alongside highly rated Luca Williams-Barnett, who earned a senior debut earlier this season in the Carabao Cup against Doncaster Rovers.
Irow is also an exciting talent in his own right, having scored twice in the UEFA Youth League, including a notable away goal against AS Monaco and Paris Saint-Germain.
Tottenham edge closer to first winter signing
Spurs will be hoping that the young forward continues to develop during his spell at Mansfield, as he has the potential to be a top striker in the future.
However, while another outgoing has been confirmed, Tottenham are still working towards completing their first signing of the winter window.
It is believed that Spurs have now agreed personal terms with Brazilian left-back Souza, who they have been keen on landing this January.
But, before a deal can be completed, they must agree on a fee with the 19-year-old’s club, Santos.
