The 2026 DGA Award Nominations
It’s Guild week! The day after the Actor Awards announced their foreign-language-less nominations, the Directors Guild of America is here to do the same. After a Golden Globes slate that boosted international movies like No Other Choice, The Secret Agent, Sentimental Value, and It Was Just an Accident, the Americans are here to put the kibosh on all that. Their feature-film nominations list is the second slate in just two days to eschew non-English-language films. Do these people not like to read?
While the nominations for Theatrical Feature Film and the Michael Apted Award for First-Time Theatrical Feature Film were announced on January 8, the nominations for documentary films and TV were released the day before. There, The Pitt and The Bear both scored multiple directing nominations, while the various celebrations of SNL50 scored a total of three.
