Why We Love This Deal
Patagonia has just two major sales per year, but you can occasionally find some gems in the brand’s sale section outside of those big events. A few were recently added: Right now, highly coveted jackets like the Nano Puff have recently popped up with notable discounts, and there's also a really nice lightweight pullover jacket that's half off. It's perfect for hikes, running, and even casual wear this winter and spring.
The Patagonia Light Gust Hooded Pullover is on sale for $139, a 50% discount from its normal price of $279. Better yet, this jacket is available at that price across three colorways with plenty of sizes in stock—at least for now. We've been checking Patagonia's Web Specials—the term it uses for its sale section—frequently, and if there's one thing we've noticed, it's that sizes disappear fast. If you want one, don't wait too long to get it.

What Shoppers Should Know
- Colorways Available: 3, all on sale
- Sizes Available: XS-XL
- Shell & Lining: 100% polyester, DWR finish
- Insulation: Thermogreen 100% recycled polyester
- Weight: 16.1 ounces
The Light Gust was built to be relatively lightweight while still offering significant warmth, and Patagonia positions it as a great layer for traveling or dealing with mixed weather. It features a polyester (70% recycled) taffeta shell and lining that offers some mechanical stretch, so it’ll move with you, and it’s stuffed with synthetic Thermogreen polyester insulation to lock in warmth.
The shell and lining also have a DWR finish to repel light moisture, while the insulated attached hood keeps your head warm, and the elastic cuffs and drawcord hem lock out drafts. It features a half-zip front closure, which makes it easy to pull off and on and also allows you to get extra ventilation when you need it. Finally, a kangaroo front pocket gives you a spot to warm up your hands, and the zippered chest pocket can hold your keys or cards.
With its lightweight design and minimalist polyester insulation, the Light Gust isn’t robust or warm enough to wear on its own in frigid or very wet winter weather. It’s better suited for milder conditions, like temps in the 40s to 50s. Its movement-friendly design also makes it a good pick for active days in cold weather: You could also use it as a warmup layer before an outdoor workout or wear it while running or hiking, for example.

What Shoppers Are Saying
Overall, shoppers have been really impressed with the Light Gust’s comfortable feel and surprising warmth. One shopper noted it’s “a bit lighter than a Nano Puff,” yet it still offers good protection on brisk days. Another shopper agreed, calling the pullover “so soft and comfortable” and said wearing it “felt like I was wrapped in a warm cocoon.” It might even rival your favorite fleece as a go-to cozy layer in chilly weather.
A 50% off deal is an incredible discount for an in-season Patagonia jacket, which only means the Light Gust Hooded Pullover is probably going to sell fast—multiple size/colorway combos are already sold out. If you want one, you'd better swing over to Patagonia ASAP and grab it before they’re all gone.
