Under Armour Launches a Fitness Cruise as Active Travel Keeps Growing
Once upon a time, daring to work out while on vacation made you the odd one out. Going for a run rather than sitting poolside with some boozy cocktails was sure to get you some side eyes from friends and family. But that's no longer the case. As more Americans commit to healthier lifestyles, travel and fitness have become unlikely partners in crime. Hotels have expanded their gyms and wellness offerings, active excursions are a norm, and now the trend is making its mark in the cruise industry.
If onboard gyms and outdoor activities like rock climbing weren’t enough for you, this takes things a step further. Under Armour and StarCruises teamed for "Fitness @ Sea" aboard the Star Voyager, setting sail from January 19 to 23, Athletech Newsreports. The four-night cruise combines structured workouts and recovery sessions while traveling from Port Klang to Phuket and Singapore.
"At its core, Under Armour believes that performance is a mindset, not a place," says Under Armour Malaysia commercial director Samantha Lim. "The brand exists to push boundaries, challenge convention and inspire people to train differently, move with purpose and unlock their full potential whether in the gym, outdoors or in everyday life. Our partnership with StarCruises exemplifies this mindset, showcasing new ways for guests to train, recharge, and experience fitness at sea."

The cruise will feature a certified trainer on board to lead the workouts and programming. Guests can take part in a range of complimentary fitness experiences, like Animal Flow, Serenity Pilates, and Beast Mode functional training and fitness challenges.
As with any cruise, activities are complimentary and open to all guests, available on a first-come, first-served basis. Those who complete the full series of workouts will receive Under Armour merchandise, while supplies last.
"Fitness @ Sea reflects how cruising continues to evolve beyond traditional vacations," says president of StarDream Cruises Michael Goh. "By collaborating with a global performance brand like Under Armour, we're creating a fresh and exciting way for guests to stay active, feel energised and still enjoy everything they love about cruising—all in one seamless experience."
