Fabrizio Romano reveals what Tottenham have to do to sign Yan Diomande
Fabrizio Romano has provided an update on Tottenham Hotspur’s pursuit of RB Leipzig forward Yan Diomande.
The 19-year-old has emerged as one of the most exciting young wingers in European football this term, with seven goals and four assists to his name in 16 outings across all competitions.
Tottenham are big fans of the youngster, with several sources claiming that Thomas Frank’s side have already spoken to Diomande about a January transfer.
It has been claimed that the Leipzig man is attracted by the idea of joining Spurs, but the Lilywhites are not expected to find it easy to complete the deal.
Tottenham have to break the bank for Yan Diomande
Fabrizio Romano has now revealed that the 19-year-old is driving clubs around Europe ‘crazy’, but he explained that Leipzig have no intention of letting the winger leave.
The journalist suggested that clubs would have to break the bank to convince the Bundesliga side to part ways with the Ivorian.
Romano told GiveMeSport: “Another player who is driving crazy, completely crazy, several clubs is playing in Germany and is Yan Diomande, the winger from RB Leipzig. Leipzig don’t want to sell the player in January. Leipzig will do their best to keep the player in January.
“So, eventually it could be a move for the summer or, in order to make it happen in January, clubs need to convince Leipzig, and it’s never easy with the Red Bull group. So you should probably think about breaking the bank, and it’s not even guaranteed that it’s going to be possible.”
Who are Spurs’ biggest competitors for Diomande?
We have previously heard that Man United are ready to pounce on Diomande if Tottenham make a move for the youngster.
Romano has now confirmed the interest of the Red Devils in the youngster and added that Paris Saint-Germain and other Premier League sides are also in the race.
He continued on Diomande: “Many clubs are following him. I told you already about Manchester United. Manchester United are following Yan Diomande and are really interested in Diomande for the future. So, tracking him, at the moment, are monitoring the player.
“Then Tottenham are doing the same. Paris Saint-Germain are also following Yan Diomande, and I’m told that more Premier League clubs are also tracking the situation.”
