Outta luck at Dee Why
Hello Friends,
A toasty one coming up along the beaches with a light NNE breeze before 0900. From RealSurf HQ it looks as though the Dee Why end of the beach is essentially flat. Out at sea we had a 2 metre,, 7-second NE wind swell, so there should be a little something at the NE magnets. Of course the wind will be 20-30 kts by mid-afternoon too. Tide was low at 0725 and will be back to the 1.53 m high at 1330.
It’s going to be a very hot 42°C tomorrow, so the strong winds this afternoon should hopefully leave a few beat-the-heat waves at NE spots for the morning session. In fact, it could be pretty fun.
Outlook for Sunday and the start of next week is looking much cooler, but southerly and small on the surf front. There is some hope in today’s long range swell models for week after next… but chances of that prediction still being the same by the time we get there, is, well, slight.
Have a great Friday everyone!
Weather Situation
North to northeasterly winds along the coast will continue to freshen through this week as a high over the Tasman Sea strengthens. A cold front and its associated trough will cross the coastal areas during the weekend, bringing a fresh to strong southerly wind change in their wake.
