Muttaqi Invites Oman’s Foreign Minister to Visit Kabul
Amir Khan Muttaqi has invited Oman’s foreign minister to Kabul to discuss expanding bilateral trade, transport and diplomatic cooperation.
Taliban foreign minister Amir Khan Muttaqi discussed trade, transit and transport cooperation with Oman’s foreign minister Badr Albusaidi during talks, officials said in Muscat.
According to a Taliban foreign ministry statement, Muttaqi invited Albusaidi to visit Kabul, saying high-level engagement would be beneficial for expanding bilateral cooperation ties.
Oman has maintained cautious diplomatic engagement with Afghanistan since the Taliban takeover, focusing on regional stability, trade connectivity, and humanitarian dialogue without formally recognizing the administration.
Afghanistan is seeking to diversify economic partnerships amid international isolation, using transit, aviation, and logistics cooperation to strengthen regional trade routes and reduce dependency.
Albusaidi said he was ready to travel to Kabul at an appropriate time, expressing hope for productive talks expanding bilateral cooperation and mutual interests.
He added that an Omani civil aviation technical delegation would visit Kabul soon to discuss transport links and practical cooperation between the two countries.
