A24 has 18 movies coming to theaters in 2026 — here they all are

"The Drama" hits theaters in April.
  • In the last decade, A24 has become one of the best-known movie studios in Hollywood.
  • A24 has eight dated movies and another 10 that are set to be released at some point in 2026.
  • "The Drama," "Mother Mary," and "The Moment" are some of the company's most anticipated releases.

When you think A24, you think of "Moonlight," "Lady Bird," "Everything Everywhere All at Once," "Marty Supreme," "If I Had Legs I'd Kick You," and "Hereditary."

In other words, you think of good movies.

Since its inception as an indie movie distributor in 2012, A24 has been synonymous with a certain type of film (you might call them "cool"). Over a decade later, with two best picture wins to its name, that still rings true.

It's shaping up to be a busy year for A24, which both produces films in-house and acquires films to distribute.

From a mockumentary starring Charli XCX to a Robert Pattinson/Zendaya team-up and an Anthony Bourdain biopic, here's what you can expect from A24 this year.

"The Moment" — January 30
"The Moment."

Charli XCX will play a fictionalized version of herself undertaking the "Brat" tour in "The Moment," a mockumentary directed by Aidan Zamiri and "based on an original idea" by XCX.

Rosanna Arquette, Kate Berlant, Alexander Skarsgård, Kylie Jenner, Rish Shah, and Rachel Sennott also star.

"Pillion" — February 6
"Pillion."

Alexander Skarsgård and Harry Melton costar in "Pillion," a romantic black comedy film based on the novel "Box Hill."

In it, Melton plays a shy young man drawn to Ray (Skarsgård), a biker who is only interested in a BDSM relationship.

"How to Make a Killing" — February 20
"How to Make a Killing."

"How to Make a Killing" is director John Patton Ford's follow-up to "Emily the Criminal."

It stars Glen Powell as Becket Redfellow, a man who's been disowned by his obscenely wealthy birth family. He decides to kill all of the cousins standing in the way of his inheritance.

Margaret Qualley, Jessica Henwick, Bill Camp, Zach Woods, and Topher Grace also star.

"Undertone" — March 13
"Undertone."

"Undertone" is a horror film starring Nina Kiri as a podcaster who's terrorized by paranormal recordings sent to her show. Kiri's character, Evy, is the only person shown on screen; every other character is voice-only.

"The Drama" — April 3
"The Drama."

The first of three Zendaya/Pattinson cinematic collaborations this year is "The Drama," directed by Kristoffer Borgli ("Dream Scenario," "Sick of Myself").

The film's logline reads: "A happily engaged couple is put to the test when an unexpected turn sends their wedding week off the rails."

Also starring are Zoë Winters, Alana Haim, and Mamoudou Athie.

"Mother Mary" — April 24
"Mother Mary."

Director David Lowery returns to the screen with "Mother Mary," a tale in which "iconic pop star Mother Mary (Anne Hathaway) reunites with her estranged best friend and former costume designer Sam Anselm (Michaela Coel) on the eve of her comeback performance," and drama ensues.

The film also stars Hunter Schafer, Sian Clifford, FKA Twigs, and Kaia Gerber.

"The Backrooms" — Summer 2026
Chiwetel Ejiofor is set to star in "The Backrooms."

If you haven't heard of "Backrooms," you haven't been on the creepypasta side of the internet.

This horror film is based on a series of short films directed by Kane Parsons (known online as Kane Pixels). The plot is being kept under wraps, but the film will star Chiwetel Ejiofor, Renate Reinsve, Avan Jogia, Mark Duplass, Lukita Maxwell, and Finn Bennett.

"The Death of Robin Hood" — TBD
"The Death of Robin Hood."

While "The Death of Robin Hood" is still undated, the first trailer and poster were released on January 6 with the promise that it would be "coming soon."

The film, directed by Michael Sarnoski of "Pig" and "A Quiet Place: Day One" fame, stars Hugh Jackman as an aged Robin Hood who is reckoning with the cost of his violent life.

Bill Skarsgård costars as Little John, along with Jodie Comer, Murray Bartlett, and Noah Jupe.

"Marc by Sofia" — TBD
"Marc by Sofia."

This Sofia Coppola-directed documentary about Marc Jacobs premiered at the 2025 Venice Film Festival, but it won't be available to the general public until some point this year.

"Nuisance Bear" — TBD
"Nuisance Bear."

Another A24 documentary is "Nuisance Bear," an expansion of the 2021 short film of the same name. It's about the Canadian town of Churchill, located in the province of Manitoba. It's known as the polar bear capital of the world, leading to some friction between locals, tourists, and the bears.

It's set to premiere at Sundance Film Festival in January.

"Famous" — TBD
Zac Efron and Phoebe Dynevor will costar in "Famous."

In "Famous," Zac Efron will have a dual role as movie star James Jansen and a "loser" named Lance Dunkquist who bears an uncanny resemblance to Jansen and uses that to his advantage.

It also stars Phoebe Dynevor, Nicholas Braun, Stephanie Koenig, Debby Ryan, Mekki Leeper, Cory Michael Smith, and Bill Pullman.

"Misty Green" — TBD
Rosalind Eleazar will play the titular Misty Green.

Chris Rock's newest directorial offering will be "Misty Green," which follows an actor, Misty (played by Rosalind Eleazar, known to "Slow Horses" fans), who reconnects with someone from her past

Rock, Adam Driver, Daniel Kaluuya, Anna Kendrick, Topher Grace, and Anthony Anderson will also star.

"October" — TBD
Jeremy Saulnier will direct "October."

Following the success of "Rebel Ridge," director Jeremy Saulnier will next direct a horror-action film called "October," starring Cory Michael Smith, Chase Sui Wonders, Sophie Wilde, Young Mazino, Stephen Root, and more.

"Onslaught" — TBD
Dan Stevens (center) will star in "Onslaught," directed by Adam Wingard (left) and cowritten by Wingard and Simon Barrett (right).

Dan Stevens will team up once again with director Adam Wingard and screenwriter Simon Barrett in the action film "Onslaught" after working together on "The Guest" and "Godzilla x Kong: The New Empire."

Adria Arjona stars in "Onslaught" as a "mother living in a trailer park [who] tries to protect her loved ones from a threat that has escaped from a secret military base, while mercenaries try to contain it," per its description.

Stevens plays a character known only as "German Scientist." It also stars Michael Biehn, Drew Starkey, Rebecca Hall (another Wingard favorite), and Alex Pereira.

"Primetime" — TBD
Robert Pattinson at the Dior Homme menswear spring/summer 2025 show as part of Paris Fashion Week on June 21, 2024.

In "Primetime," Robert Pattinson will play a TV journalist heavily inspired by "Dateline's" Chris Hansen. It will be the feature debut for documentarian Lance Oppenheim.

It also stars Phoebe Bridgers, Merritt Wever, Sean Bridgers, Skyler Gisondo, and Matthew Maher.

"The Entertainment System Is Down" — TBD
Keanu Reeves.

Keanu Reeves, Kirsten Dunst, Daniel Brühl, Samantha Morton, Nicholas Braun, Tobias Menzies, and Connor Swindells are set to star in director Ruben Östlund's follow-up to "The Triangle of Sadness."

"The Entertainment System Is Down" is a story about (gasp) what happens on a long-haul flight when the plane's entertainment system is down.

"Tony" — TBD
Dominic Sessa will play Anthony Bourdain in "Tony."

Deadline reported in August 2024 that "The Holdovers" star Dominic Sessa had been tapped to play iconic chef and personality Anthony Bourdain.

The film will also star Antonio Banderas, Emilia Jones, Leo Woodall, and Stavros Halkias, and will be directed by Matt Johnson, who was last behind the camera for "BlackBerry" and "Nirvanna the Band the Show the Movie."

Untitled musical comedy directed by Jesse Eisenberg — TBD
Jesse Eisenberg.

Eisenberg was announced to be directing a musical by Deadline in November 2024.

It's said to follow "a shy woman who is unexpectedly cast in a local production of an original musical" while working with a "strong-willed and enigmatic director" in a community theater production, Deadline reported.

It's set to star Julianne Moore and Paul Giamatti as the shy woman and director, respectively, along with Halle Bailey, Havana Rose Liu, Bernadette Peters, Bonnie Milligan, and Lilli Cooper.
