Cristian Romero takes aim at Tottenham hierarchy in Conte-style explosive rant

Cristian Romero has apologised to Tottenham Hotspur supporters after their defeat to Bournemouth, but he has made it clear who should be at fault for the club’s dreadful form.

Tottenham Hotspur lost their eighth Premier League match of the season on Wedndsay, meaning they have now recorded more defeats than victories.

Spurs started the game well with an early Mathys Tel goal, but Bournemouth snatched the win after Antoine Semenyo scored from outside the box towards the end of stoppage time.

Not many Tottenham players can be proud of their performance, although Cristian Romero won an impressive 21 duels during the match. However, he could have defended better for the hosts’ opening goal, as he failed to compete with Evanildon for a header.

Cristian Romero hits into the decision-makers at Tottenham

Following the 3-2 defeat, Romero took to Instagram to apologise to the travelling Spurs fans, admitting that the players must take responsibility for their lacklustre displays.

However, the captain has fired shots at the Tottenham hierarchy for failing to speak up when things get bad and he has even accused them of telling lies.

Romero posted: “Apologies to all fans of you who follow us everywhere, who are always there and will continue to be.

“We are responsible, there’s no doubt about that. I am the first. But we will keep facing up to it and trying to turn the situation around, for ourselves and for the club.

“At times like this, it should be other people coming out to speak, but they don’t — as has been happening for several years now. They only show up when things are going well, to tell a few lies.

“We’ll stay here, working, sticking together and giving our all to turn things around. Especially at times like this, keeping quiet, working harder and moving forward all toghether, is part of football. All together, it will be easier.”

Since originally making the post, Romero has deleted his comment about people telling lies, but he has kept the rest of the mindblowing dig visible.

It is hard to argue with Romero’s Spurs post

The inflammatory post from Romero could have been seen as the players refusing to bear the blame for Tottenham’s abysmal campaign, but he is clear that they too are at fault.

Therefore it is difficult to do anything other than agree with the 27-year-old. Spurs were run like a circus in the summer transfer window and clearly the wrong decision was made regarding the managerial position.
