Chick-fil-A Announces Two New 'Permanent' Menu Items

It's not often that Chick-fil-A makes permanent additions to its menu, but this week, the beloved fast-food chain did just that at all of its locations across the country.

As part of what Chick-fil-A describes as a yearlong "newstalgia" campaign, Chick-fil-A has announced two new items to its permanent menu.

Frosted Sodas

For years, Chick-fil-A has offered its iconic frosted lemonade, which blends ice cream with its signature homemade lemonade for a creamy and delicious treat. Eventually, Chick-fil-A began selling the frosted coffee, which blended cold-brewed coffee and ice cream in a similar way.

While the fast-food chain has often added temporary seasonal variations of the frosted lemonade, Chick-fil-A is now greatly expanding its offerings for frosted beverages. Now, customers can order a frosted soda, which blends ice cream into any fountain beverage.

"Frosted Sodas are hand-spun with Icedream and Guests’ choice of fountain beverage for a smooth, creamy treat with a retro twist," Chick-fil-A wrote in its press release.

It does not have to be a soda, either; customers can have any fountain beverage blended with ice cream, including non-carbonated beverages like Hi-C.

Floats

In addition to the expanded offering of blended dessert offerings, Chick-fil-A is now offering a more classic option – floats.

Like the frosted soda, the float includes Chick-fil-A's iconic Icedream softserve in any fountain beverage. However, instead of blended, the ice cream is simply swirled into the beverage, remaining solid.

"Floats are layered with soda and Icedream creating a fizzy, foamy treat that’s perfect for sipping or scooping," Chick-fil-A describes in its press release.

The float can be made with any of Chick-fil-A's fountain beverages, carbonated or not.

Permanent Additions

While these two new menu items are part of the restaurant's "newstalgia" celebration, Chick-fil-A made it clear that they are here to stay, indicating that the treats will now be on the permanent menu.

"On January 5, two new beverage platforms – inspired by nostalgic soda fountain favorites – are joining Chick-fil-A’s permanent menu, offering a playful twist on the classic Icedream dessert," Chick-fil-A wrote in its press release.

The new treats will be available in any fountain beverage, which will include Coca-Cola, Dr Pepper, and Sprite, with additional options like Fanta, Powerade, Hi-C, and Barq’s Root Beer, depending on the location.

Needless to say, this is an exciting announcement for anyone who was already a fan of the chain, and it might be a reason to try a new treat next time you stop by.
