Former 'Even Stevens' Star Steven Anthony Lawrence Alleges Retaliation Following Universal Studios Firing
Former Even Stevens star Steven Anthony Lawrence, known for playing Bernard “Beans” Aranguren, is speaking out about being fired from Universal Studios Hollywood.
The 35-year-old actor shared an Instagram post on Sunday alleging his time working as a performer at the theme park ended after he reported what he claims was a suspected pedophile.
Steven said he delayed speaking out for about a month in hopes of reaching an “amicable solution,” but ultimately felt compelled to share his side.

He shared his caption alongside a photo of his Universal staff badge.
“It is with a heavy heart I have to announce that my time with Universal Studios has ended,” he wrote, alleging retaliation from a supervisor and human resources.
In a statement to Entertainment Weekly, a Universal Studios Hollywood spokesperson shared the following statement: “We have investigated and reviewed the concerns brought forward by this former employee and they were found to be inaccurate and without merit. We take all employee concerns seriously and have established processes for raising any concerns without fear of retaliation.”
The post quickly drew mixed reactions. Specifically, a few commenters claiming to be park employees accused the Disney Channel alum of being difficult to work with.
“Also you were a menace to work with, onstage and off. Left your glasses in the middle of the floor during a set and then yelled at the dressers that they moved your glasses so they wouldn’t get stepped on (tip of the iceberg),” wrote one person.
However, a few people claiming to be employees seemed to believe Steven and offered their own perspectives.
Another user said, “as a former USH employee this tracks, i had my own experiences w them and they’re a terrible company! kudos to you for speaking out!!”
In response to some of the alleged testimonies being shared in his comments section, Steven himself commented, writing, “The frightening thing is this post has had so many other people speak out with their own accounts and has given me more ammunition then I realized.”
