Tottenham player ratings as 3/10 duo help hand Bournemouth their first win in 12

The whistle has blown for full-time at the Vitality Stadium, and it’s time for our Tottenham player ratings vs Bournemouth in the Premier League.

Tottenham fell to a 3-2 defeat at the Vitality Stadium, despite showing fight to come back from 2-1 down in the second half through a Palhinha overhead kick.

Tottenham full-time player ratings vs Bournemouth

Guglielmo Vicario Bournemouth looked to attack less in the second forty-five and, as such, Vicario was barely tested after conceding two goals in the first half, where he could do nothing about either. 5.

Pedro Porro The full-back was at fault for Bournemouth’s second goal as he was caught ball-watching when Semenyo slipped the centre-back in. In the second half, despite Tottenham being 2-1 down, Porro still offered little in attack, with few overlapping runs. 3.

Micky Van de Ven – The Dutchman should definitely have done better for Bournemouth’s equaliser, as Evanilson found himself in a lot of space in the box, leading to a free header. In the second half, Spurs were barely threatened, leaving van de Ven with little to do defensively. The centre-back thought he had won his side a penalty after one of his trademark runs from his own half into the Bournemouth box, but it was overturned after a VAR review. He later came close to giving Spurs the lead from a corner, but his effort was well saved. 6.

Cristian Romero – The Argentine came close to giving Spurs a two-goal lead following a header from a corner, but he headed over. In the second forty-five, he saw more of the ball as Tottenham looked to play from behind and find an attacking rhythm. He remained a threat from corners, with his header from the back post finding Richarlison, who headed against the bar early in the second half. He also created another chance for van de Ven late on, forcing Petrovic into a save. 6.

Djed Spence – Far from the composed display usually associated with him, as a poor clearance in the second forty-five gave Unal a chance to score a third for the Cherries, but the Bournemouth forward missed. Spence, however, looked to join the attack more in the second half as Spurs sought an equaliser. 3.

Joao Palhinha – The 30-year-old had his standout moment in the opposition box, with his overhead kick giving Tottenham their equaliser from a corner. He also stuck to his pivot duties, managing two crucial blocks from the edge of the box as Bournemouth looked to go in front late in the second half. 6.

Rodrigo Bentancur – The Uruguayan was the more advanced of the pivot pairing and was tasked with keeping things ticking, which he attempted to do in both halves. He played a number of forward and sideways passes before being substituted in the final four minutes after picking up an injury. 4.

Xavi Simons Looks to be finding rhythm in a Tottenham shirt and showed glimpses of his quality in both halves with a few neat passes and flicks. He provided the assist for Tel’s opener early in the game. 6.

Lucas BergvallThe midfielder enjoyed a positive first half, popping up all over the pitch and looking to get shots away at every opportunity. His night ended abruptly after picking up an injury and being replaced by Wilson Odobert. 6.

Mathys Tel – Got himself a goal early on, but it was far from a dominant display as he did not see much of the ball in either half. However, he remained a threat whenever he cut inside onto his left, scoring in that fashion and later delivering the dangerous ball that led to the corner for Tottenham’s second goal of the night. His deliveries from corners were also consistently accurate. 8.

Randal Kolo Muani – Failed to impact proceedings in the opposition box across both halves, despite working hard off the ball. He was eventually replaced by Richarlison. 3.

Subsitutes

Wilson Odobert – Came on in place of Lucas Bergvall after the midfielder picked up an injury, moved straight into the number ten role and looked positive. He should have done better for Bournemouth’s third as he failed to close down Semenyo who let fly from the edge of the box. 5.

Archie Gray – Replaced Bentancur following his injury and slotted into the pivot position. N/A.

Richarlison – Came on for Kolo Muani after the Frenchman failed to influence proceedings, with his best moment seeing an effort come back off the post. 6.
