Snow forces flight and train cancellations in France
Around 100 flights were cancelled at Paris's Charles de Gaulle airport on January 7 and a further 40 were cancelled at Orly airport because of snowfall and fierce cold. All public bus services in the French capital and in surrounding suburbs were also suspended due to icy roads, while the vast majority of metro and suburban rail systems were working. The cold snap is of a 'rare intensity' for the season authorities say, calling for no unnecessary travel. FRANCE 24's Delano D'Souza tells us more from the ground
