Michael Reagan Dead: Ronald Reagan's Son & Conservative Commentator Dies at Age 80
Michael Reagan has sadly passed away.
On Tuesday (January 6), it was announced that the conservative commentator, who was also President Ronald Reagan‘s eldest son, had died at the age of 80.
The Ronald Reagan Presidential Foundation and Institute shared news of Michael‘s death on X, revealing that he died on Sunday, January 4 in Los Angeles. His cause of death was not shared.

“Michael Reagan lived a life shaped by conviction, purpose, and an abiding devotion to President Reagan’s ideals,” the statement continued. “We extend our heartfelt condolences to Colleen, Cameron, Ashley, and the entire Reagan family. Our thoughts and prayers are with them during this time of sorrow.”
Michael was one of the late president’s five children. He was born in March 1945 to Irene Flaugher and John Bourgholtzer, per The Courier-Journal. Days later, he was adopted by Reagan and his then-wife Oscar winner Jane Wyman.
After college, Michael followed in his parents’ footsteps and got into the entertainment industry, appearing in a handful of TV shows and movies, including working with his mother on Falcon Crest. After his acting career, he created his syndicated radio show, The Michael Reagan Show, and later wrote several books including On the Outside Looking In, Twice Adopted and Lessons My Father Taught Me.
He married first wife Pamela Gail Putnam in 1971 and they divorced the following year. He then married Colleen Sterns in 1975 and they are parents to son Cameron, now 48, and daughter, Ashley, now 43.
