Brignone unsure she will race before Winter Olympics
Italian Brignone, a giant slalom silver medallist in Beijing four years ago, suffered a double fracture of her left tibia and fibula in April last year, casting her Milan-Cortina hopes into uncertainty.
The 35-year-old has since rejoined the Italian team training sessions as she attempts to fully recover in time for the Olympics, which begin on February 6.
"It's obvious that I'd like to (race before the Olympics) but we need to understand how I'm feeling and whether it's feasible," she told Sky Sport television station late on Monday.
"Training is one thing, racing to perform is another. I still need to log the kilometres.
"I'm feeling good and fairly confident, even though I'm still in a rebuilding phase," she added.
The veteran dominated the competition last winter, securing the overall World Cup title, 10 World Cup victories, and a World Championship gold medal in giant slalom.
She has won everything in her career except an Olympic title and will be one of the four flag bearers for the Italian delegation at the Games' opening ceremony on February 6.
