Chelsea Handler Jokes Leonardo DiCaprio Getting Stuck In St Barts Was 'Like the Titanic, But Worse'

Chelsea Handler took a dig at Leonardo DiCaprio‘s weekend troubles!

The 50-year-old comedian used her opening monologue at the 2026 Critics Choice Awards on Sunday (January 4) to joke about the One Battle After Another star being stranded in St Barts over the weekend.

If you don’t know, Leo was unable to make it to the Palm Springs International Film Festival Film Awards the day before as he wasn’t able to catch a flight out of St Barts in time. There were air traffic restrictions due to the geopolitical situation in Venezuela.

“Leo almost didn’t make it tonight because he was trapped on a boat in St. Barts,” Chelsea joked, as the actor could be seen laughing.

“It was just like the Titanic, but worse, because Jeff Bezos was there,” she added, referencing his 1997 movie about the sinking cruise ship.

Leonardo and girlfriend Vittoria Ceretti were seen ringing in the new year in St Barts with Jeff Bezos and Lauren Sanchez, among others, on their superyacht.
