Man Utd now want £70m Brazilian forward after 20-goal season
Manchester United are among the clubs monitoring Vasco da Gama winger Rayan, according to Diario AS journalist Eduardo Burgos.
The 19-year-old had a fantastic 2025 in Brazilian football, and his progress has caught the eye of elite European teams.
Burgos claims that United and AC Milan are keeping tabs on the teenager. There is also interest from Saudi Arabia.
However, a deal is complicated after Rayan signed a new long-term contract with a £70 million release clause last month.
A transfer is expected to progress at the end of the campaign.
Man Utd could swoop for Rayan next summer
Rayan had a top-notch season with Vasco, scoring 20 goals from 57 appearances.
He is primarily a right-sided winger, but had his fair share of playing time as the main centre-forward. He netted six goals from 14 appearances as a number nine last term.
His versatility will no doubt have impressed the United hierarchy and manager Ruben Amorim.
Aside from his goals, Rayan has good defensive awareness too. He won more than five duels per league game last season, with an average of one tackle and two recoveries.
The left-footed ace lost possession 8.3 times per match, which is lower than Matheus Cunha and Bryan Mbeumo for the Red Devils this campaign (12 and 15, respectively).
His immense potential could urge United to make an approach next summer. They are unlikely to pay his clause, but a deal could be done for £35-40m, including add-ons.
Rayan would be a good understudy for Mbeumo in the right number 10 role. He could likewise compete for places with Benjamin Sesko upfront. Joshua Zirkzee looks poised to leave this winter.
