Ask the Vet: Don't overlook the pancreas

The pancreas is a tiny organ in the abdomen in pets and people that is often overlooked, but if this organ stops functioning properly or becomes inflamed the consequences can result in serious diseases that can even be fatal. The pancreas is one of the smaller organs in the abdomen and lives next to the beginning of the small intestine called the duodenum near its connection to the stomach.
