Billie Lourd Honors Carrie Fisher on 9th Anniversary of Her Death With Heartfelt Instagram Post
Billie Lourd shared a touching Instagram post to remember her mother Carrie Fisher who died nine years ago on December 27, 2016.
Billie, 33, started her post by mentioning the anniversary of Carrie’s death and noting that her own daughter, Jackson Joanne, 3, “woke up earlier than usual.” Together, they went outside and little Jackson laid her head on Billie‘s chest.

“She knowingly laid her little head on my chest,” the Scream Queens actress wrote. “She looked up at me with her big soulful eyes and said ‘I love you mama’ and grabbed my face with her little chubby hands and kissed me. She does this pretty much every morning and dare I say, there is no better way to wake up and no ritual I love more.”
Billie has two kids, Jackson, and a son, Kingston Fisher, 4, who she shares with her husband Austin Rydell.
She then wrote about telling her daughter how much her “grandmomby” would have loved her and how much she appreciates seeing her kids run around with her dad, Bryan Lourd.
“Watching my dad with my kids is one of the greatest joys I’ve ever known. The kind of joy that makes your face hurt because you can’t stop smiling, the kind of joy that makes you feel like your life is a movie you thought only existed in movies,” she said.
Billie continued, “Then I started thinking about how this joy wouldn’t be possible without my mom. This joy only exists because she existed. So even though she is not physically part of this joy, she is part of the reason for it. Even though she is not alive she lives on through this joy.”
She concluded her post by writing, “Thank you momby. I will never stop missing you.”
Billie then noted that the photos she shared, one of herself when she was much younger with her parents and one of her dad with her two kids, were taken “in the same room 25 years apart.”
Billie is one of several cast members set to return for American Horror Story season 13.
