Kate Hudson Says She Hates Email: 'It Ruins My Day'

Kate Hudson is not a fan of emailing.

The 46-year-old actress is winding down a very busy 2025, which saw the release of two major projects: the Netflix series Running Point and new musical biopic Song Sung Blue.

“I have to say for myself, personally, I think this is the busiest I’ve been since my twenties,” she told People. “It’s been a really interesting time.”

Part of maintaining balance between her work and home life involves avoiding emails.

“My new thing is, I tell people, really honestly, that I hate email,” she said. “I don’t like it, I don’t want to look at a thousand emails a day. It ruins my day.”

“So, if you’re going to send me an email and think that I’m going to get it or read it, good luck!” Kate added. “I’d rather get on the phone with someone.”

She explained that when you’re juggling multiple jobs, the nonstop stream of emails creates pressure to always stay engaged. While she understands the need for reminders and confirmations, she dislikes the expectation that having email means you’re obligated to respond on weekends.

“Then you go and you’re like, ‘Wait, I have 500 emails and it would take me two days to actually respond to all of these,’” she continued. “So, email’s out for me.”

Kate recently opened up about her regrets over turning down a role.
