Tottenham make Lucas Bergvall decision after rumoured £52m Liverpool approach
A news outlet has revealed what the Tottenham hierarchy is thinking about Liverpool’s rumoured bid to sign Lucas Bergvall.
The Swede swept all of Spurs’ end-of-season awards last term, and while he has not been a regular in the starting lineup this term, he has had plenty of game time.
It has emerged over the last 24 hours that Liverpool have identified Bergvall as a priority target and have opened talks with Spurs regarding the 19-year-old.
That update, which came from Fichajes, suggests that if the Reds offer €60m (£52.4m) for Bergvall, Tottenham may consider cashing in on him and using the funds to strengthen other areas of their squad.
Tottenham have no intention of selling Lucas Bergvall
However, TEAMtalk have now analysed the rumours about the teenager, and they say that their sources have not been informed of any such impending offer from Liverpool for the player.
Additionally, they say with confidence that Spurs will not entertain the prospect of selling Bergvall anytime soon.
In fact, they have heard from one club source that the teenager will be ‘one of the last’ players that they will contemplate cashing in on.
Thomas Frank’s men consider the midfielder to be ‘off limits’ for the upcoming transfer windows as they attempt to build a competitive squad.
Huge hopes for Bergvall at Spurs
TEAMtalk point out that the Sweden international has started four Champions League matches this term and half of the club’s Premier League matches, which shows how much he is valued by Frank and his coaching staff.
It is revealed that fitures at Hotspur Way are excited about Bergvall’s long-term future, with many believing that he can reach the very top of the game.
In fact, some even believe that the midfielder can turn into a £100m asset if he fulfils his potential in North London.
