Flood advisory in place for Alameda and Contra Costa counties Wednesday morning caused by significant rainfall

Alameda and Contra Costa counties are under a flood advisory which was issued by the National Weather Service on Wednesday at 3:18 a.m. The advisory is in effect until 6:15 a.m.

According to the NWS San Francisco CA, “Urban area and small stream flooding caused by excessive rainfall is expected.”

“Minor flooding in low-lying and poor drainage areas. Water over roadways,” the NWS said. “Turn around, don’t drown when encountering flooded roads. Most flood deaths occur in vehicles. Be especially cautious at night when it is harder to recognize the dangers of flooding.”
