Kate Middleton Is Always ‘At the End of the Phone’ When Younger Brother James Needs Parenting Advice
When James Middleton needs parenting advice on raising his 2-year-old son Inigo with wife Alizée Thevenet, he turns to his older sisters. Sounds pretty normal, right? It’s just that his big sisters are Pippa Middleton and Kate Middleton, the future Queen of England. The entrepreneur revealed that the Princess of Wales is always available to offer him parenting advice as a seasoned mom to kids Prince George, 12, Princess Charlotte, 10, and Prince Louis, 7, who she shares with husband Prince William.
“One of the wonderful things about being the youngest [sibling] and having children last is that there is an abundance of paraphernalia that comes in very handy. Also, it’s the confidence [they give me],” James recently told Hello! about his sisters. (Pippa is also an experienced mom of kids Arthur, 7, Grace, 4, and Rose, 3, with husband James Matthews.)
“You’re always on edge with being a parent, particularly this time of year with coughs and colds and sniffles going around the place,” James continued. “They’re definitely at the end of the phone if we need a bit of advice. And equally, they know that I’m on the end of the phone if they need a bit of advice on managing their dogs.” They sound just like any other adult siblings, and we love it!
But it’s not just advice his sisters offer him. They also love getting together with their kids.
“I think we’re really fortunate to be a very close family, and so we get together as a family relatively regularly, and love that opportunity,” James told the outlet. “There’s seven grandchildren, so six cousins for [Inigo], and it’s wonderful them spending time together and making memories.”
Sounds amazing! Especially because Middleton’s kids don’t get to see their cousins on their dad’s side, Prince Harry and Meghan Markle’s kids Prince Archie and Princess Lilibet.
In 2024, James told Hello! that his older siblings give his son hand-me-downs. “[The clothes] are milestones, because [my sisters] remember when their child was wearing something, and how old they were – it takes them back,” James told the outlet. “It’s been a lovely thing for them.”
“It’s been wonderful, seeing them become mothers and being so dedicated and strong. I’m in awe of that,” James continued. “I’ve been fortunate to see how my sisters have done it, and take tips along the way – some I take on board, and others I’m like: ‘Hmm.’” Spoken just like a cheeky younger brother!
