Afghanistan Hold Kuwait to 3–3 Draw in Second Futsal Friendly
Afghanistan’s futsal team drew 3–3 with Kuwait in their second friendly, with a late equaliser highlighting competitive preparations for the AFC Futsal Asian Cup 2026.
Afghanistan’s national futsal team played out a 3–3 draw against Kuwait in their second international friendly on Monday night, as part of preparations for upcoming continental competition.
The match was held on December 22 in Kuwait City, following an earlier high-scoring friendly between the two sides that also ended level at 4–4 over the weekend.
Afghanistan made a strong start, taking control in the first half through goals from Farzad Mahmoudi and Omid Ghanbari, going into the break with a two-goal advantage.
Kuwait responded after halftime with a more aggressive approach, overturning the deficit by scoring three goals and briefly moving ahead as pressure mounted on the Afghanistan defence.
However, Hamidreza Hosseini struck late in the match to restore parity, securing another draw and underlining Afghanistan’s resilience in the closing stages.
The two friendlies have provided valuable match practice for the Afghanistan side, allowing the coaching staff to test combinations and assess fitness against strong regional opposition.
The fixtures form part of Afghanistan’s broader preparations for the AFC Futsal Asian Cup 2026, with officials hopeful the competitive performances will build momentum ahead of the qualifiers.
