Why we love these Kindle deals
There are plenty of e-readers out there, but Amazon's Kindles remain the best of the best. Plus, with four main models that cover different preferences and price points, there's a Kindle for everyone. That's why we're happy to see almost the entire Kindle lineup on sale right now at Amazon.
I've owned several generations of the Kindle Paperwhite over the years, and I'd recommend it to anyone who wants to ditch bulky paperbacks for the ease of an e-reader without sacrificing the feeling of reading a real book. Its display is still very page-like, while backlighting provides optimal brightness in any atmosphere, and you can't beat how convenient it is for traveling. The latest version is currently 16% off, or you can opt for the Signature Edition Essentials Bundle, which includes a case and charging dock with the device.
Unfortunately, the latest model of the Kindle Scribe isn't included in the sale. That said, you can snag its 32 GB predecessor at $140 off, bringing it down to the same price that the 16 GB version dropped to on Black Friday. If you've been waiting for the right time to make the upgrade, this is it.
Ahead, shop the best Kindle deals at Amazon right now, including several of the latest models. Delivery before Christmas is no longer guaranteed in most locations, but these e-readers are worth the wait.

FAQs
Which Kindle should I buy?
The best Kindle for you will depend on your preferences and budget. The Kindle Paperwhite is a solid choice for most people, with a page-like backlit display that's larger than the standard Kindle but still closely mimics the experience of reading a physical book. If you are on a tighter budget or don't want any bells and whistles, the base Kindle is also a great pick.
The Kindle Colorsoft is ideal for graphic novel readers, but the upgrade probably won't be worth the price if you don't typically read illustrated books. The same goes for the Kindle Scribe if you don't annotate your books or already have another tablet with similar writing capabilities.
Is Kindle Unlimited on sale?
Kindle Unlimited is a subscription service that gets you unlimited access to Amazon's library of e-books and audiobooks. Right now, you can score a 30-day free trial or get three months for $1, as opposed to the two months for $5 that Amazon was offering last week.
While both options pretty much pay for themselves as long as you download one book over the course of the promotional period, this isn't the best Kindle Unlimited deal we've seen this year. Previous promotions for Prime Day and Black Friday have offered two or even three months of the service for free, so we'd recommend holding out for a better deal if you can. Still, $1 is a minimal difference in the grand scheme of things, so a subscription could be a good addition to a holiday gift.
