Pro-Life Senator Ted Cruz Considers Possible 2028 Presidential Bid
Senator Ted Cruz, a Texas Republican and a staunch defender of unborn children, is weighing another run for president in 2028 as he positions himself within the evolving Republican Party.
Cruz, who finished as runner-up in the 2016 GOP presidential primary, has been fielding requests from supporters urging him to launch a bid in 2028.
During a recent meeting near Washington, D.C., Cruz noted he had received requests to run. Should he launch a bid, he would be expected to face a primary against fellow pro-life advocate Vice President J.D. Vance and potentially other contenders.

The Republican nomine could eventually face someone who is radically pro-abortion like Gavin Newsom, Kamala Harris, or Josh Sahpiro.
The Texas senator has long championed the protection of human life from conception.
In June 2025, Cruz introduced a joint resolution designating June as Life Month to mark the third anniversary of the Supreme Court’s Dobbs decision, which overturned Roe v. Wade and restored states’ authority to safeguard unborn children.
“To honor the dignity of every human life and to thank those who protect the most vulnerable,” Cruz said in a Senate address introducing the measure.
He praised pregnancy resource centers, noting, “Walk into any pregnancy resource center in the country, and you will see these values in action: volunteers counseling scared young mothers, shelves stocked with diapers and baby clothes and supplies, medical care offered without a dime of government funding.”
Cruz further emphasized life’s sacredness, stating, “Life is not an accident, and it is not a coincidence. It is a joy and a blessing from God. Life is the foundation of every other right we hold dear. Without it, there can be no liberty, no prosperity, no pursuit of happiness.”
The resolution called on Americans to “recommit to the American ideal that every single life has dignity.”
As speculation grows about the post-Trump GOP landscape, Cruz has emerged as a voice for traditional conservative policies while navigating internal party dynamics.
Cruz has not publicly confirmed plans but continues to build his national profile through speeches and policy advocacy.
