Alameda and Contra Costa counties are the focus of a flood advisory released at 8:37 a.m. on Monday by the National Weather Service. The advisory is in effect until 11:30 a.m.

The NWS San Francisco CA said, “Urban area and small stream flooding caused by excessive rainfall is expected.”

“Minor flooding in low-lying and poor drainage areas. Water over roadways. Overflowing poor drainage areas,” according to the NWS. “Turn around, don’t drown when encountering flooded roads. Most flood deaths occur in vehicles. Be aware of your surroundings and do not drive on flooded roads.”
