Popular FOX Sitcom Coming to Netflix This Week
Netflix is closing out 2025 with some last-minute changes to its streaming library. The service will be adding and subtracting titles over the next 10 days leading up to the new year.
This week, Netflix will welcome Animal Control, a popular FOX sitcom, to the fold, just days before the show's new season premieres in primetime.
When will 'Animal Control' arrive on Netflix?
Animal Control, starring Joel McHale, will debut on Netflix on Friday, Dec. 26. At least two, and possibly all three, of the show's seasons will be available, says What's On Netflix's Kasey Moore.
Recently, FOX announced that Season 4 of Animal Control will premiere Sunday, Dec. 28 at 8 p.m. ET following the conclusion of the network's NFL doubleheader. The series will then return to its typical Thursday night slot at 9 p.m. ET on Jan. 15.
What to know about 'Animal Control'
According to a FOX press release announcing the new season, Animal Control centers around a group of Seattle animal control workers "whose lives are complicated by the fact that animals are simple, but humans are not.
McHale plays Frank Shaw, the main character, described as "opinionated" and "eccentric."
"A former cop, Frank tried to expose corruption in his department, but his efforts got him fired, which may explain why he's so cynical and curmudgeonly," the press release says. "He has an almost superhuman ability to understand animals. Humans...not so much."
Created by Bob Fisher, Rob Greenberg and Dan Sterling, Animal Control debuted on FOX in February 2023. The show also features Vella Lovell, Ravi V. Patel and Grace Palmer, with Rob Gronkowski and Ken Jeong slated to make guest appearances in Season 4.
Season 1 of Animal Control earned a 60% approval rating on Rotten Tomatoes, and the sitcom also has marks of 7.4/10 on Rating Graph and 6.8/10 on IMDB.
