Amorim: Bruno will take a while to recover
Manchester United captain Bruno Fernandes picked up a rare injury during our 2-1 defeat against Aston Villa yesterday. With the score level while he was still on the pitch, he made way for Lisandro Martinez at half-time, before United went behind.
Fernandes was seen walking out to the stands after half-time but reports have since suggested we should be without our captain for at least a month.
Speaking to the press after the game, Ruben Amorim didn’t want to put a timeline on his return but confirmed he was going to be out for a while.
I think it’s soft tissue. So, it’s going to take a while. We’ll see. It is really strange. During this year, especially at this time, we have so many problems, but we have to cope with that.
I think he is going to lose some games, but I don’t know for sure. I don’t want to talk about the matter, it is a guy who is always fit and he has shown he can always recover.
In the next month, Fernandes is set to miss our games against Newcastle, Wolves, Leeds, Burnley, Brighton and City. We can be hopeful he returns in time for Arsenal away at the end of January.
